Bring 3D Printing into the Classroom

PrintLab Classroom is an online library of 3D printing lesson plans for educators who teach students in the 8-16 age group. Pick and choose from creative projects that focus on a range of key themes to support design thinking and project-based learning across all subject areas, including 'Design for Disability' and 'Designing for a Zero Waste Economy'. Enrolling in The PrintLab Classroom Trial will give you 7 days access to a range of PrintLab's lesson plans and training resources. The aim of the trial is to allow you to explore the platform to help you decide whether the full subscription is suited to your needs. **Please note that the trial does not allow lesson materials such as presentations, workbooks and videos to be downloaded - whereas the full subscription does**

Step 1: Teach the Teacher

Begin your journey by participating in The PrintLab Certification Course, a certified course for teachers that covers all aspects of 3D printing in the classroom. This 4 hour online course is included with all license options and will provide you with the confidence and skills to teach 3D printing curriculum.

Step 2: Inspire the Students

Browse the lesson plan library and select projects relevant to your subject area to teach. PrintLab curriculum uses free 3D modelling software and is compatible with all FFF 3D printers. Each lesson has its own section on the portal where teachers can access information about how to prepare and deliver the lesson. Downloadable materials include step-by-step lesson plans, slide-show presentations, student workbooks, CAD tutorial videos and 3D printable STL files.

What Teachers Say...

"The kids loved it and we actually managed to get a working whistle at the end! One of the kids has been so keen on it he convinced his Dad to buy a 3D Printer kit and they spent the weekend building it together!"

Brian Nagel

"I really like the portal - I was excited to see lessons for subjects other than just science and technology. We have already done the Braille lesson in class and it went really well!"
