Overview
In this lesson plan, students will work in teams to learn about 6 key types of 3D printing technologies by analysing the provided information sheets and combining this with their own research strategies. Following their research, teams will be provided with 18 'application cards', which specify different scenarios where 3D printers are required. Their challenge is to match the applications to the most suitable type of 3D printing technology. By the end of the 2-part workshop, students will have a thorough understanding of the amazing 3D printing technologies available in the marketplace - from FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) systems to industrial metal technologies.
